Field of Hope

Each year we have held the Field of Hope Dedication on the County Courthouse lawn the first Friday of April, Child Abuse Prevention Month. During the ceremony, the audience is invited to help install Child Abuse Prevention flags, 1 for each child that died as a result of abuse in Arizona the previous year. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, which resulted in stay-at-home orders, last year's Field and dedication ceremony had to be cancelled. We are dedicated to working together for the day we no longer have to raise any flags in their memory. This year the Field will be erected on March 31, 2021 and will be up until April 4th. Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be able to hold the dedication ceremony. There will be 100 flags flown in memory of the children, the most we have had to fly.

For those members of our community, here and around the world, that wish to knit or crochet items, we will be holding a virtual Sit 'n Stitch. Please join us March 28th from 1PM - 4PM MST. Bring your yarn, needles or hooks, patterns for baby or youth hats, mittens, socks, etc. and join us for a time to visit with other crafty people. Click here to join us online on March 28th.

Bring your finished items to Odegaard's Sewing Center, 2109 N. Fourth Street #3, Flagstaff, by May 31st for distribution to Northland Family Help Center, Hope Cottage and children served by Coconino County's Healthy Families program.
